All that we are is the result of what we have thought…

The mind is everything. What we think we become. ~Buddha

I apologize for having been a little m.i.a. recently. Life happens, we get busy, it happens to the best of us. However, I have lots of exciting updates as a result… :)

What’s With the Handstands?

So for those of you that follow along my Instagram or Facebook pages, you may have noticed an abundance of handstand pictures. What’s the deal you ask? Well yogi Lauren Rudick put out a challenge for herself to handstand everyday for a year, and invited others to join in the fun. Naturally, I thought that sounded awesome and took her up on the challenge.

The last year has brought about a lot of changes that ultimately have lead me to this really big one… Moving to Salt Lake City. I’ve grown up for the most part in Florida and after a few years in North Carolina, found myself back in FL again last year. I’ve always known that I didn’t want to stay there, even in grade school, but somehow kept ending up there. College because of scholarships, then I started skydiving and FL had ideal year round conditions, then there was a guy, the list goes on… And the whole time in the back of my mind I knew I wanted to see and do more. Experience more of what this amazing planet has to offer.

Why We Breathe…

March Madness Day 7:

There was such great success with Jon’s video, Why We Jump, which then led to the dialogue of why we do many other things. Naturally yoga was on the list. Big Island…

The next morning we woke up in Hilo. My dad being the geophysicist extraordinaire that he is took us to Volcanoes National Park. Kilauea is still smoking, a rather eerie sight if you think of the potential destruction when/if she blows again. Jon got to walk through his first lava tube, a massive underground tunnel essentially that once had molten lava rushing through it. We drove through the lava fields leftover from her eruptions in the 70s winding all the way down to the southernmost tip of the island where lava continues to trickle into the ocean. The ground is a wide expanse of black hardened lava, an almost desolate feel compared to the majority of lush foliage and greenery around the rest of the island.
