Let’s get HOT!

I’ve been saying for awhile now that I will be teaching more classes. Well guess what!?! When I return in November the new CorePower Yoga Foothills Studio is finally opening and you will have plenty of opportunities to come practice with me. I am so excited to be joining the CorePower team and hope to see you all in the studio.

I am a big fan and advocate of heated yoga. Not to the point where you feel like you’re dying and just trying to survive, but the heat is a wonderful aid in warming up your body and facilitating deeper/stronger practices. As I’ve said before not every style of yoga will suit everyone, but there is a style, class, teacher, studio that will be just right for you. My personal preference is to practice in the heat and I encourage you to at least try it out. CorePower has some of the nicest facilities around (believe me, I tried a lot of studios when I first moved to SLC) and has the best heating system available to ensure that temperature/humidity are carefully monitored for optimal performance. I will continue to teach Power classes and will be adding some Hot Yoga (stationary) classes as well.

Another bonus is that all CorePower studios offer a free week for new students to try out as many classes as you want. Their Highland location opened earlier this year so you don’t have to wait for the new studio to open to use your free week. And if you decide you love the heat like I do and sign up for a membership, it’s valid at any CorePower studio across the nation. Maybe one location is closer to home and the other is closer to work, it makes getting to a class that much easier. It’s also really nice to know you can get a great practice in even when you’re traveling. When I was visiting my family in Hawaii this summer I didn’t have to search for a studio to practice at because they have a studio there as well.

The temperature is dropping and pretty soon SLC will be covered in a beautiful layer of snow. That’s not an excuse to get lazy, if anything it should be even more of a reason to get hot and get sweating! I leave Tuesday for Project Orange in Zephyrhills, so all you skydivers out there can come play with me. And for the yogis, I’ll be back from Mt. Everest before you know it. Looking forward to seeing you on the mat again! Have a fantabulous week!
